ORDERS & PAYMENT
We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as PayPal and other payment methods available at checkout. All transactions are processed securely.
Please contact us at info@chiarais.com as soon as possible if you need to modify or cancel your order. Once production has begun on a made-to-order piece we may not be able to accommodate changes. We will always do our best.
Yes. A confirmation email will be sent to the address you provided at checkout as soon as your order is received. If you do not receive it within a few hours please check your spam folder or contact us at info@chiarais.com.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY
Once dispatched you will receive a tracking number by email. Estimated delivery times vary by destination: Italy 2/3 days, European Union and United Kingdom 2/7 days, United States, Middle East and Asia 5/10 days, Norway and Switzerland 2/7 days, Rest of World 5/10 days. All shipments are fully tracked.
Yes. We ship to most countries worldwide. Shipping costs and delivery times vary by destination and will be displayed at checkout. Please note that we do not ship to certain destinations including Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba, Venezuela, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, and Myanmar. If you are unsure whether we ship to your country, please contact us at info@chiarais.com before placing your order.
This depends on your location. Customers in the EU receive their orders on a Delivered Duty Paid basis - no additional charges on delivery. Customers in the United Kingdom, United States, Middle East, Asia, Norway and Switzerland receive orders on a Delivered At Place basis - local import duties and taxes may apply and are the responsibility of the recipient.
Every CHIARA IS piece is handmade in Scicli, Sicily and carries a certificate of origin certifying its Italian provenance. In certain markets, including the United Kingdom, this may qualify your order for reduced or zero import duties under applicable trade agreements. We cannot guarantee duty outcomes as these depend on your country's regulations and customs procedures, but we provide full documentation with every shipment to support the most favourable outcome possible.

Yes. All orders are dispatched with full tracking. Your tracking details will be sent by email once your order has been dispatched.
If your order has not arrived within the expected window please contact us at info@chiarais.com with your order number and we will investigate with the carrier on your behalf.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
Stock items may be returned within 14 days. Items must be returned in their original condition, unworn, unaltered, and with all original packaging, labels, accessories and care items intact and included. Please take care when trying your piece. Any item that shows signs of wear, has had tags or labels removed, or is missing any accompanying elements will not be accepted for return.. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. We ask that you use a fully tracked service and share the tracking details with us at the time of dispatch. Please refer to our full Returns & Exchanges policy for details.
Made-to-order and personalised pieces are crafted exclusively for you and are exempt from the standard right of withdrawal in accordance with EU Consumer Rights legislation. These items cannot be returned or exchanged.
Write to us at info@chiarais.com with your order number and reason for return. We will respond within 2 working days with instructions.
We do not offer direct exchanges. If you would like a different size or colour please return your item and place a new order.
Please contact us at info@chiarais.com within 48 hours of delivery with a description and photographs of the issue. We will resolve it as quickly as possible - whether through repair, replacement, or refund. Return shipping will not be charged in the case of a fault or defect.
THE SHAWLS
Yes. Every CHIARA IS piece is handmade entirely by hand in our atelier in Scicli, Sicily, by Le Donne di Luce - our exclusive group of women artisans who preserve the ancient tradition of the Sicilian Shawl.
Each piece is entirely handmade, and slight variations in size or finish may occur. These are not imperfections - they are precious signs of the uniqueness that makes each creation truly one of a kind.
Every Shawl bears the name of the woman who made it. It is our way of celebrating the individual hand and heart behind every piece.
The sterling silver tag plated in 18K gold and engraved with the CHIARA IS emblem is applied to every piece. It is the seal of authenticity of the Shawl and certifies that your piece has been handmade in our atelier in Scicli in full respect of the artisanal and cultural tradition of the Sicilian Shawl.
Yes. If you would like to add hand-embroidered initials, a date, a name, or a symbol that carries meaning for you, write to us at info@chiarais.com before or after placing your order and we will arrange it with the Women of Light.
Yes. All yarns used in CHIARA IS pieces are certified and fully traceable, guaranteeing ethical sourcing, animal welfare, and environmental and social responsibility throughout the supply chain.

Most pieces are available in One Size. The Scialle Peonia in Merino Wool is also available in M and L. Full measurements are listed on each product page.

Our Shawls are designed for versatile styling - draped loosely over the shoulders, wrapped close against the cold, layered over a coat, or worn as a blanket wrap. There is no single way. Wear it as you feel.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
Care instructions vary by fibre and are listed on each product page. As a general rule - dry clean recommended, store folded horizontally in the linen pouch provided, avoid hanging for extended periods.
Fold it gently and store it horizontally inside the linen pouch that accompanies your piece. Do not roll it carelessly or hang it for long periods as this can distort the shape.
Yes. We offer a dedicated repair service carried out directly in our atelier in Scicli by the Women of Light. We also offer an exclusive hand-washing treatment using olive and carob wood ash and roses - an ancient Sicilian process that restores softness and depth to the fibre. PACKAGING & GIFTING
Your piece travels to you in a recycled paper box closed with one of our precious yarns and the CHIARA IS wax seal. Inside you will find a hand-stitched linen pouch inspired by the traditional Sicilian pillowcase, a portabene - a small lucky charm to watch over your piece — and a handcrafted olive wood comb to keep the fringes beautiful.
Yes. We do not use plastic bubble wrap, plastic adhesive tape, or single-use plastic bags. Our packaging is designed to be kept, reused, and respected.
Yes. If you would like to send your piece as a gift, please mention this in your order notes or write to us at info@chiarais.com and we will take care of it.
