Scialle Coperta Peonia is the most enveloping expression of the Shawl. Handmade entirely by hand in Scicli, Sicily, by Le Donne di Luce, each piece carries the mark of the woman who made it.

In Mohair Silk Blend, it surrounds the body with a warmth that feels both light and complete. The surface holds a delicate halo that gives the shawl its depth and softness, allowing colour to appear rich and diffused rather than flat. It is larger than the classic Shawl, designed to be worn as a coat, a housecoat, a quiet refuge. From the first moments of morning to the last of evening. A blanket, but lighter. A Shawl, but more.

The Colour

Volcanic Black - Etna's lava, once it has cooled, becomes something extraordinary, matt and mineral, absorbing light completely, neither threatening nor cold. It is the black of things that have passed through fire and come out the other side, changed but whole.

When your Shawl reaches your hands, it comes accompanied by our Good Care Kit, designed to preserve its beauty across years of wearing.

Inside you will find a hand-stitched linen pouch inspired by the traditional Sicilian pillowcase, a portabene, a small lucky charm to watch over your shawl, and a handcrafted olive wood comb to keep the fringes beautiful. The Shawl travels to you sealed inside a recycled paper box, closed with one of our precious yarns and the CHIARA IS wax seal.
